A superb 19th Century French market basket with two handles. Originally used by chic ladies when shopping at French markets for carrying produce and eggs. There is a coat of arms on the leather latch. Minor repair made to the latch. This can be used as decoration, as a basket or handbag or for storing produce.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
